ELP Art Students Visit Colby

Extended Learning Program visual art students enjoyed a recent trip to Colby College Museum of Art. Docents led tours to facilitate discussions and observations relating to Maine Learning Results such as artist purpose, understanding process and making meaning with materials. Middle school students learned about artist's interpretations of environmental issues such as effects of global warming and dams on natural waterways. Searsport Elementary ELP students learned about Maine's industries and natural resources as depicted in artwork from the permanent collection. Colby College Museum of Art is free and open to the public.
