This month, Searsport District Middle/High School has opened its very own Makerspace, joining a growing number of libraries and schools around the country. Called the "STEAM Lab", the SDMHS makerspace will provide a work area where students have access to tools and supplies to create, invent, tinker, design, prototype, and problem-solve. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. This exciting space will allow students - both in their classes and individually - taccess to supplies and tools (like a 3D printer!) purchased through recent grants and donated by community members. Want to know more, get involved, or have tools/supplies to donate? Read more on the STEAM Lab blog.
