Teachers can put in a request for a project, and donors from all over the country peruse the site and choose which projects to support. With the help of several donors and a generous gift from the Gates Foundation, the 'Graphic Novel Library' project was funded in only a few days, and 7th graders now get to enjoy over 30 new graphic novels in the classroom. "It's been great," says Capwell.

"Not only do graphic novels engage students, they are also great for helping develop a variety of literacy skills, including making connections and drawing inferences. It's exciting for kids to have such a wide variety of titles to choose from!"
